Immunization Data & Decision Making unit
The Immunization Data & Decision Making (DDM) unit collects, collates, analyzes and produces core annual insights on global immunization system performance. These data are critical for ensuring performance accountability of bodies such as WHO, UNICEF, The Gavi Alliance and others. Our outputs direct broad resources in directions most likely to achieve impact.

IA2030 goals are designed to inspire action for implementation and support efforts to improve health security, universal health coverage, access and equity for immunization and innovation. For countries, this could mean setting country-specific targets and milestones for the decade toward those goals.

In resource-constrained settings, an increasingly compelling rationale will be needed to ensure that the priorities set by countries are aligned with country needs, including the introduction of new vaccines within immunization programs, over and above many other priorities.

WHO supports countries with priority setting by developing normative guidance and tools that support countries with making transparent and evidence-informed decisions.

Country-led Assessment for Prioritisation on Immunisation (CAPACITI)

The CAPACITI project aims to strengthen the ability of LMICs to evaluate immunisation options according to their priorities and programme context, both for national immunisation programme decisions and to inform vaccine supply, research and development. The IVIR-AC endorsed CAPACITI decision-support tool reflects an increasing focus on the agency of stakeholders and country ownership of decision-making and priority setting through a structured, evidence-informed and transparent process to ensure introduction, equitable vaccine access and coverage, and sustainable impact.
